Head of Social

This role is critical to taking Nexus’ creative outputs to the next level. Whether it’s a big or small campaign. You’ll need to be connected to the world, understand how to translate key insights into purposeful ideas, have a brilliant eye and scintillating copywriting skills. You need to be a cool cat who can work across the teams at Nexus and work closely with our head of content.


Reporting to the Creative Managing Director, you will be working in partnership with all teams across the agency. Your colleagues will rely heavily upon your social expertise, creativity for everything from paid content strategy and creative and organic strategy and planning; to best creative practice and advocacy programmes to help improve our client’s business.


Your key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing social media strategies and plans for Consumer and B2B programmes and campaigns as well as quarterly social media roadmaps for clients that deliver against their business objectives
  • Leading the overall delivery of Social Media content across all platforms for Nexus and its social clients. Including developing integrated strategies and responses with client teams, SEO and paid social
  • Developing paid social strategies and management
  • Supporting the PR team on influencer identification and marketing
  • Support existing client programmes and new business pitches, ensuring social media plays a key role in our clients marketing mix by keeping abreast of developments in social and constantly encouraging integration – acting as an advocate for the role of social within the marketing mix across the agency and client portfolio
  • Exhibit accomplished presentation skills to clients
  • Be able to induct clients into Nexus re what we do in social media inc. paid social, content and social listening
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Food and drink sector
  • Work closely with the Head of visual content and Account Directors to integrate innovative social and content led approaches into all agency activity

Your key skills are

  • You will have extensive experience working in social media and content marketing
  • Solid understanding of social media’s role within the marketing and PR mix and experience with integrated accounts
  • Strong written and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and very high personal standards when it comes to quality, method and rigour
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable in a client facing role, and able to work in a multi-disciplined agency environment
  • Highly motivated and with a positive “can do” attitude
  • Experience with Food and drink clients preferable but must have experience delivering content and social media programmes across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and TikTok


Your attributes

  • At least 5 years social media agency experience
  • Vibey and creative
  • Strong content planning experience for B2B and B2C campaigns and programmes
  • A passion for digital and social creativity
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Strong time management and organisation skills with the ability to determine priorities and always hit deadlines
  • You support Nexus’ new business drive through diligent research and reliable assistance with the preparation of visuals and props for presentations
  • You share information with your colleagues that you think may be of benefit to others and help to achieve results
